I've created a 5 page word doc. I intend to e-mail it to several clients. How
can keep these clients from changing any part of the orginal doc. I e-mailed
them?

You can't.
The best you can do is send it as a protected PDF format file (for which
you'll need extra software), but even that isn't proof against someone
really determined.

Lary,

There are somethings that you can do. They might not stop them but will
deter them.

First of all in Word go to Tools>Protect Document.
Choose protect document for Forms and put a password in. Repeat the password
and that's sorted.

Then if you go to Save As, then click Tools on the Save As box, choose
security options and then put in a password for modifying.

I'm not sure how safe these are and if they can be easily cracked but it
should deter them enough.

Regards,
Ash.

Both measures would prevent the original being edited, but it would be a
simple matter to produce copies which amounts to the same thing.
