Protecting Form When Using Control Toolbox

I'm creating a form on MS Word 2000. When I use the items on the the control
toolbox (i.e. option button, text form box, etc.), I no longer have the
option to protect/unprotect my document. However, everything's fine when I
use the options in the "Forms" toolbar. Why is this happening, and what can I
do to fix it?
 
suggest you post in an MS Word newsgroup. this newsgroup is devoted to
questions about MS Access database software.
