Hi:
I have a protected workbook/worksheets for multi-users who input data daily.
I want them to use some features like "comment","Fill color" to communicate
with each other, but all are shaded. Is there any way to make them work?
Thank you in advance

Dennis

Hi Dennis!

It depends upon the Version of Excel you have.

In Excel 2003

Tools > Protection
Allow users to "Format cells" and "Edit objects"
OK

This allows users to change formats and insert and amend comments even
if a cell is protected.

Hi Dennis!

The ability to allow more "user" rights was introduced in Excel 2002
(XP).

Hi Norman:
I currently use Excel 2000 with Windows 2000. I tried to search the help to
see if it has the same functions as Excel XP or 2003, but it looks like I'm
out of luck. Is there another way to let other users use "comment" function?

Hi Dennis!

How about just unprotecting the worksheets? After all, the protection
of worksheets in Excel is not all that secure. The most important
thing will be to make sure that you have a good backup!
