Is the Microsoft Data Access Application Block worth using? I'm new to it
and would like to get the opinions of some seasoned veterans. I'm not sure
it if will really save me very much time or effort. Thanks

It has two limitations

1. It only uses SQLClient. If you need odbc or oledb then
it will not work.

2. There is nothing there for updating data.

otherwise it is great for using and learning.

Hi Dave,

You might check my web site
http://www.rthand.com/Default.aspx?Page=2&SubPage=1.
I have a totaly customizable template the is used for generating data
adapters for storing data (insert, delete, update).
If it doesn't suite you, you might change it or create your own.
There are also other templates available from others - actually there are
plenty of them.

The bottom line - you have total control and don't have a black box in front
of you :)
