A long while back when I had a P90 and ran Win 95, I had DLed a little
proggie which, once installed brought up the propeties option when I
right clicked on a file. Saved a lot of clicks as well as aggravation.
Unfortunately I have since lost the program. Anyone have any ideas of
something similar?

Are you still using Win95? That's too far back for me to remember :) but
at least from Win98 on up, "properties" is a right click option built in.

Maybe even better. :) If the file (or desktop icon or whatever) is
already selected, then typing Alt+Enter will (probably) bring up the
Properties dialog. Works the same as the corresponding mouse method.

==> LOL. I'm using 2K and I'm thoroughly familiar w/the right click
option. The proggie I had only required the clicking of an icon and
the version number would pop up.

==> Not better. Not what I want. Software would show version # upon
clicking an icon.

I don't understand what you mean by "brought up the propeties option".
If this isn't the standard Properties dialog, what is it? The version
information is contained *within* this dialog. Is it this that you want
direct access to?

I think you may be talking about this little progy called Instant Version
Info. It's now up to version 1.7 (only 150 kb) and still free.

Purpose : Version info for file appears in explorer context menu.

Usage : Right-click a file in explorer. Not all files have version info,
in which case the program does not add an entry to the context menu.

Clicking the Instant Version Info menu entry copies the version info to
the clipboard.

Automatic install and control-panel uninstall.

This utility copyright Greg Lorriman 1999-2003. Remember to send me an
