Hi,
I'm stumped! When working in forms-design (Access 2000), I've "lost" the
properties window! When I click on the icon in the toolbar, the form looses
focus, but I don't see the properties window. It may have moved off-screen -
how wouild I get it back? Is there a "preferences" or "ini" file? I have
"repaired " Access, but no joy.
TIA for any help,
John

I just had this problem when I remote-accessed by dual monitor setup at
work and the property sheet was on the monitor I couldn't see via the
remote connection. Here is the process for getting it back.

De-select the "View Properties" button and then re-select it to make sure
the property sheet has focus. Then press Alt-Tab followed by <Enter>.
This will activate the "Move" option on the property sheet and you can then
use the arrows keys to bring it back on-screen. Of course if you don't
know which side of the screen it is "off" you might have to try both
directions before you get it back.

John:

Assuming that it has moved offscreen, you can try this to get it back. The
trickiest part is the fact that you are working blind on an object that you
can't see and you can only assume is there.

1) View>Properties: This will toggle the window on or off. We want it on.

2) Alt + Space: will activate the ControlBox (upper left corner) menu on the
active window.
Note: if the ControlBox Menu for one of your other windows opens, you turned
the Properties window off in step 1. Go back and start again.

3) M: Invokes Move on the ControlBox menu
4) Use arrow keys to try and move the window you can't see back onto the
screen.
5) Enter: to accept the movement made in #4

You might want to experiment with moving a window that you *can* see in
order to get a feel for the command behavior before trying to work blind on
an unseen object.

Hope this helps,
