I'm using Access 2000, and suddenly I find that, no matter
what database I load, I can't find the properties box when
I put a form in design mode. I can click on Properties
under the View menu, or right click it on and off, but I
can't find it! There are no scroll bars on screen (I am
able to see the entire window), but I just can't see it.
Is there some option I'm missing?

Is it possible that the Properties box is present, but off screen?

1. Open a form in design view.

2. Make sure the Properties item is NOT selected on the view menu.

3. Right-click a text box and choose properties.
The Title Bar of your form become the inactive colour.

4. Hold down the Alt key and tap the space bar.
This should drop down the Control menu for the invisible dislog.

5. Tap M (for Move).

6. Use the arrow keys (probably up and left) repeatedly to see if you can
move the dialog back into the visible screen space. If it (or its outline)
appears on screen, press Enter.

Thanks, but when I try that, I get the control box for
Access itself, and can only move IT around the screen.

In case anyone is interested, I figured out a solution. I
still don't know how I got in this situation, but the key
is (literally) in the Registry.

I went looking in the registry, and found a setting under
Office Access for FormPopPropST, which had 5 digits. I
looked at all the other ...PopPropST's, and found that the
first four are height/width pairs. For some reason, mine
had values of 1;-831;436;-256;... so I just removed the
minus signs, and there was my properties box!
Hope this helps someone else sometime.
