Proper permissions needed to book resources

Hello everyone,

I have 3 resources that were migrated over from exchange 5.5 resource
mailboxes. I never configured those accounts in AD because they
continued to work... until now. So I logged in as each resource, set
the account as per MS and everything is fine. I just have a question.

I have a few user who need all permissions to the resource, so I
granted it to them. After the change over I was getting calls that no
other users could book a meeting directly with that resource. What I
did to get around this was basically make all my users authors to that
resource and all is well.

Is that the proper way to do it? It seems to me any savy user could go
to open other users folder and see the contents of that resource that
way.

Is there a way to setup that resource so that anyone can book it but
not everyone can see its contents?

Thanks,
John

Yes, that's the proper way to do it. If you want users to be able to book resources directly, they must have Author permission. See http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/skedresource.htm for more info.
