Hi,

I'm trying to use the PROPER function, but the results it's giving me aren't
correct. I have text written in all caps in cell A1, and in B1, I've
entered the equation PROPER(A1) . Shouldn't it return whatever is in A1
in proper case? It basically does nothing....it just remains PROPER(A1)
for all to see. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Aaron

Hi
try the following
- make sure the cell is formated as 'General' (goto 'Format - Cells')
- enter
=PROPER(A!)
don't forget the equation sign

also make sure that you have calculation turned on
tools, options, calculation (tab), automatic
also make sure that you are not in formula view
tools, options, view (tab), make sure formula view is turned off
-- normally you would use the Ctrl+` (accent grave) to toggle
into or out of formula view.
also make sure there is not space before the equal
sign you've been told that you need.
