I just recently got hit with a bad trojan, and I was
forced to reinstall windows. I have a large amount of
files that I'd rather not overwrite, so I simply
installed windows overtop of itself. When prompted I told
it to install in the same directory and overwrite the
existing windows installation. Since then every time I
start up, I'm seeng a prompt that is giving me the choice
between two instances of Windows XP Professional. This
has me somewhat baffled considering I made sure to tell
it to install into the same folder. I was wondering if
anyone knows how to eliminate this prompt and continue
booting normally. Also I've checked within my boot.ini
and when checking all boot paths using the msconfig
utility there are two fastdetect instances of Microsoft
Windows XP Professional, however both of them show up as
being an invalid operating systems. If anyone could help
me with this I would appreciate it.

this is beginning to end what is shown in my boot.ini in
msconfig... it may not be 100%accurate as I had to type
it in with this window off screen. I would think that
maybe the boot loader would be EZbios, because I have a
computer that will only read up to 8 gb as a hard drive
size. I hope someone can help me with this. I'm somewhat
familiar with computers, so i can gather what some of
this is, but im not wanting to just go arbitrarily
deleting things.
