I was able to get my midi file to play, but only in the craziest way. I
inserted a Windows Media Player as an object along with my midi file and my
song played just fine. However, the picture of the Media Player shows up
when the song begins and I can't get rid of it to save my life.

Can you tell me how in the world to get rid of this ghastly looking thing?
I've tried going to Edit, object, but it's grayed out.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions because otherwise, the file is finally
just as I wanted it, music and all.

Thanks so very much.

The problem with having the Midi play through your Windows Media player is
that you cannot set the number of slides that you want the midi to play
through. Sure the system will let you go through the motions of Custom
Animation, set the number of slides .....However, you will notice that when
your presentation plays, the midi song clip will play until it is finished
regardless of the number of slides you set it to play through.

Being able to set a Midi to play through a certain number of slides was such
a nice feature in Office 2000 and in Office 2003. It is shame that Microsoft
destroyed this feature in Office 2007.

Hi, Chirag:

I've tried every way I know to move the Windows Media Player out of the
slide, but it won't budge. I'll keep trying and if you have any ideas on how
to get it out, please let me know.

Thanks so very much for your help.

Thanks for the reply, Sam. I agree with you that it is a nice feature to
have the midi play through a certain number of slides. Thank goodness, that
part of the presentation works, but I just can't figure out how to get that
darn picture of the Windows Media Player out of the slide. Can't even get it
to go behind something. Everything else is working fine. Thanks again, Sam.
