Hi

I have a Asus A7v266-e Motherboard with a promise on-board raid kontroller
(PDC 20265R) Is it possible to have more than 1 raid-1 array on this, or do
I have to buy a second raid controller??
I would like to have 2*40gb disks in a raid-1 array for system partition and
2*120GB disks in a Raid-1 array for the data partition.

You may find that there are a few modified bios for your board
that incorporate the full Promise bios into the whole board bios,
giving you more features. Don't have that board so I can't say
for certain if that'd do what you want, but in general any full
raid bios will support 2 x RAID 1 arrays (since there are two
channels on the board).

You may find the Via chipset hampers performance on the RAID
controller, that the traditional southbridge controller is much
faster.
