I am hoping that someone can give me a handle on, or at least point me in
the right direction. I purchased a M7VIK Mainboard, I have an AMD Athlon
XP 2000+ processor 1.67 GHz. And 1stick of 256 DDR ram. It supports Ultra
DMA 33/66/100/133 Buss Master Modes. I have two identical Seagate 40g hds.
attached to the 376 fasttrack controler, and a 20g Quantuam Fireball and a
IOMEGA Zip 250 attached to IDE1. On IDE2 I have CDR-W and a DVDR/RW. I did
a fresh install of XP-Pro adding the drivers for the conrtroller during
setup, reformatted all drives and yet XP does not see the Slave 40g Seagate.
The Promise Array Management Monitor however does, but it appears to be some
kind of weird configuration. This is the way the tree on the array
management monitor has them listed. 1) My Console, 2)MyComputer, 3)
Fasttrak_376, 4) FTP1, 5) ch1, 6) ch2, 7) ch3. and under channel 3 is the
master Seagate, 8) is the Promise Array1, and under that is the slave
Seagate, listed as ch3\ST340810A I am trying to set this array up as Stripe
for Performance however the fastbuild utility only shows one drive when I
try to Configure the array. Has anyone experienced this and can help me out?

Disconnect the Zip drive and try again. They have a habit of hijacking the
C: drive as their own. It may solve your problem - then again, it may not.
