Project Save

Hi!
I have just spent many hours creating a project.Saved project to start a NEW
Project...Returned to call up my original saved project but itwill not return
to Timeline.
The project is there..in My Videos and also main MM Programs but it will not
return to MM. I get messageC:/ etc,etc..Mija.wmv is not a valid windows mm
project file??? How can that be.....it was only saved a couple of hours ago?

A project file and a movie file are two
different things. The extension .wmv
means you have a completed movie file.

A project file would have the .mswmm
extension and would be created by going
to...File / Save Project As....while your
project was still open in Movie Maker.

You should be able to re-import your .wmv
file by going to...File / Import Into Collections...
if you wish to use it in a new project.

John, Thanks fo your prompt reply.
My file type reads:Windows Movie Maker Project....I thought something told
me it was .wmv....I was wrong!!...............I sent to "My Videos as a
Project to begin NEW Project....On clearing storyboard I received message "Do
you wnt to save Changes you made to project...? I said yes
It is gone into default directory but as I said earlier,it will not come
into MM. I select file Open, file windows flashes on screen of MM but nothing
happens. I have checked main Progs and it is there.It will just not come back
to the screen
Simple project with clips and Transitions...........? D'arcy
 
Part 2!! Neither will it "Import"..When I try this "My Videos Project I want
doesnt even appear in the window D'arcy

To re-open a .mswmm file...all you
have to do is double left click it and
Movie Maker will open it.

Thanks John,

I've done this and everything else.File has same ext as ANOther file (which
will open),but Mijas will not open.....File window flashes by something
happens,but it will not come into Timeline............D'arcy

If the extension is .wmv it would be
trying to open Windows Media Player.

If it is .mswmm...it is apparently corrupted.
