I am in the middle of an online Movie Maker class through Loyola Marymount
College. When I started it, I was using Windows Vista. Two days ago, we
upgraded to Windows 7. Now when we try to open "MSWMM,." the files DO still
open, but it's no longer the same featured program that they are teaching in
our class. Our teacher has instructed us to download Movie Maker 2.6. It
appeared we were back on track with our training. But NOW when I try to open
the MMWMM files in Movie Maker 2.6, I get an error message "version not
supported."
1) Without totally losing out on the rest of this training class, how do I
continue to access the project files already created in the 2.6-featured
environment?
2) I heard something that Microsoft "was going in a new direction with the
Movie Maker feature." If so, is there a particular project now that they
have shuttled all of the features missing since Vista Movie Maker? Is this
in Windows Professional instead? Or where is it hiding now?
3) I'll do anything to get his back, if there is a way -- even if we have to
pay for it.
And please don't tell us to recreate all of the work that we've already
covered in our class. That is not an option at this point of our class and we
need to use our original files in our exam.
Can someone please help or at least offer another alternative such as a 3rd
party plug-in to fix this hole?
Thanks!
