Progressive Text Block Dissolves

I need to have layered (one on top of another) text boxes dissolve one to the
other on a single slide. Upon click the first one is to fade out as the
second fades in. Upon next click, the second fades out as the third fades in,
etc.

I can get the first transition to function properly by setting the second
box to "With Previous", but after that I can't seem to get the second to fade
out - it just sits on top of the thirds one.

Thanks for any help.

Each text box must have an entrance *and* an exit. Set these up first. Then
set the entrance of box 2 with previous - so it enters and box 1 exits. Then
set the entrance of box 3 with previous - it enters and box 2 exits and so
on. Does this work for you?

Rae,

Thanks for posting. I agree with your answer, which is exactly what I was
trying to do, but...

I am new to PP and can not figure out how to set up both an "entrance"" and
an "exit" for the same object - the only choices I see are "Add Effect",
"Change", or "Delete".

Could you give me a step-by-step on this?

Thanks so much!

Dave

Rae,

I think I figured it out - when you highlight the text block again you have
the option - I was clicking on the sequence number PP assigns to each element.

Are the entrance and exit functionalities avaialble in PP 2000?

I'm trying to do something similar and can't find those options.

Thanks!

No, sorry. Exit transitions were introduced in version 2002. If you
describe what you want to do, perhaps someone can give you a workaround
for 2000.
