I made a big goof by removing some of my registry through a registry cleanup
program and now the program won't restore. I can reconnect the *.exe
connections manually for my loaded programs, but the Windows Accessory
programs such as System restore and e-mail programs won't open without an
assigned .exe file. My Desktop is working, internet and programs I
reconnected.
I believe there is a repair function when booting my XP cd or do I need to
reload Windows? Is there another option or is this another "live and learn" ?
If I need to reload XP and set it up in the existing large disk partition,
would I end up with 2 copies of Windows? Should I and can I delete Windows
first? Would I need to reload all the programs or would they reconnect?
