Programs won't minimize!!

Or rather they will minimize, but not to anywhere I can recover them whilst
using the task manager. It only happened after I had to use system restore,
and got SP3 & IE7 downloaded.
Now I know there is a simple tick, or switch someone I have unticked or
switched off, so will someone PLEASE tell me where it is!!!
