programs which refuse to be deleted !

downloaded F-Prot antivirus and later tried to remove it with add/remove
feature in my XP system . It says it was removed but doesn't . Worse yet , if
you go to files/folders you can remove all but one F-Prot file . In
attempting its removal,an xp warning window says it will not do so . To make
matters even worse, if you go back and try to use the add/remove feature
again , all the files and folders are reinstalled . To my thinking F-Prot
has attached part of this file to some other application that prevents its
removal . Other than editing the registry is there any solution ??

Hi usayjim------

Have you tried "turning off" the anti-virus, before trying to remove it? I
would think it starts up automatically when you turn the computer on. Maybe
that's why you can't completly remove it.
Other than that, try going to maker's web-site for some info on uninstalling.
