Good evening to everyone,
suddenly every menù item of every application installed on my pc are
unreadable.
For example, when I click on START -> Programs instead of the name of each
program in Italian i see only strange symbols.
The same happens for Microsoft Word and Excel menù items (such as File,
Format, Modify, and so on...)

Any idea to solve?

Thank you, Emilio

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so
just fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup
doesn't always get to see answers from others in another newsgroup.
And for those who read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted
to, they see the message multiple times instead of once (they would
see it only once if you correctly crossposted instead). This wastes
everyone's time, and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please
do so by crossposting -- sending a single message simultaneously to
multiple newsgroups (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Please see "Multiposting vs Crossposting" at

Go to the paragraph that starts "If the default Windows display
font is a symbol font such as Wingdings or Webdings, you may not
be able to use steps 1 through 9. In this case, follow these
steps: ..."

The KB article does not explain how to create the registry edit
file - if your computer does not display normal fonts.

I suggest you use a different computer to create the registry
edit file. Transfer the file to a USB thumb drive and insert the
thumb drive into the problem computer. Then, run the REG file
from the USB thumb drive.
