Programs loading on startup

I have two icons that load up and stay in my system tray
when i start the computer which I don't think need to be
there (although I'm not sure) - one is 'Winamp agent', the
other is 'Creative diagnostics agent' (which is associated
with the Creative Play Center). I am unable to figure out
how to remove them - 'properties' on either doesn't give me
the option.

Two questions - do I HAVE to have these running, and, if
not, how can I fix it so they don't automatically start up?

I've never used WinAmp but found this recommendation for disabling the
WinAmp Agent at www.answersthatwork.com:

Disable Winamp Agent in Winamp itself. Click on the top left corner of
Winamp, then choose "Options \ Preferences", then "Setup \ Agent" in the
left bar, then take the tick OFF "Enable Winamp Agent" and all sub-options
on the right-hand side. Click CLOSE. Close Winamp. Reboot your PC.

I have the Creative software installed for a three year old Soundblaster
card but do not have the Diagnostics tool enabled. My software may be older
(and different) than yours but since I couldn't imagine why this would be
needed unless the sound was *not* working I disabled it long ago. My sound
continues to works fine.

Unfortunately I don't remember how I disabled it. If it was not an option
in the Creative Software, I probably removed it from the RUN key in the
registry. If you export a key before deleting it, you have provided
yourself a "way back" in case your registry edit causes your sound card not
to work properly. Double clicking the exported information that was saved
as a REG file, adds it back into the registry. Importing/exporting is
explained in more detail within the Registry Editor's help file.
