Hi,

Is there any list of programs which run both on Windows and Linux and
are freeware/GPL? I use both systems and it is very convinient for me to
use for example: Thunderbird, Firefox, GIMP, OpenOffice, JAlbum etc. But
maybe there some others good and worthy to know and use?

Pricelessware apps are "good and worthy". :)

PL2005 list - table sorted to group cross-platform apps (open source
apps are noted in the Ware type column):

Sorry for the fact that you will be treated to a "Software Patents Kill
Innovation" web page before being taken to the GNUWin page (which has a
nice listing of GNU software). The "Patents Kill ..." page (or similar)
seems to be cropping up more and more as people are protesting the patents
issues being debated / voted on / implemented in Europe. It's an annoyance
to be sure, but you can click through it (or wait for the WinGNU page to
auto-load). You may even find it interesting if you are unaware of what is
going with the patents issue.

Thanks a lot! I am a new one here. But I like this list. There should be
also Inkscape.

Programs on the Pricelessware List are chosen once a year by
alt.comp.freeware participants. Stick around and in the fall you can
nominate Inkscape for the 2006 list.

The term "Fall" is very confusing as it is a North American only term.
The rest of the English-speaking world uses "Autumn". In Australia it
is currently Autumn and the period for voting would actually fall in
our Spring. Is it possible to use Month names to avoid any confusion,
please?

It's possible when the month is *known*. We haven't set this year's
schedule yet. Let me rephrase my statement: Stick around and toward the
end of this year you can nominate Inkscape for the 2006 list.
