Programs do not recognoze default printer after XP upgrade

I recently uograded to XP Pro from 98se2. I reinstalled a networked printer and I can print test pages as well as form notepad. When i try to print form any office 2000 program, abode 5.0 etc. I get a message that there are no printers set up for my computer. I have reintalled Office as well as the printer driver to no avail. The printer is an OKI C7200n connected directly to the network. Thansk for any help
