Ever since I installed the latest version of Messenger 8 a couple of weeks
ago, Windows tries to dial my internet connection whenever I open other
programs such as Windows Explorer. Normally, it only brought up a dial-up
dialogue box whenever I opened Internet Explorer (which asked me if I wanted
to connect to the net), but now it does it for other programs too. Also, it
brings up my dial-up dialogue box whenever I start Messenger - even if I am
already connected to the net. I've tried to change the settings in the IE
Tools/Internet Options/Connections dialogue, but that only stops the dial-up
dialogue box from appearing at all (even for IE). Does anybody know how to
fix this problem? (I'm using Windows XP Pro)
