Hi,
is there any freeware who give me a list of all installed SW on my PC?

Regards Werner.

Belarc Advisor

The Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and
hardware, including Microsoft Hotfixes, and displays the results in your Web
browser. All of your PC profile information is kept private on your PC and
is not sent to any web server.

Great program, probably the best, BUT it doesn't list everything.

Regards, John.

Nope. Programs that supposedly do this usually just check the
registry. IMO the program you want doesn't exist.

Wouldnt any installation tracker effectively accomplish the task if used
religously? I realize it would not help the OP currently, but if one
wanted to 'build' a machine from the ground up, you could essentially
have it so that you could do that if necessary.

Are there any freeware installation trackers?

As many others have said, Belarc; FTR I have Softcat (I think it was
mentioned), but It's dependent on YOU adding the info, far as I know. Once
added, of course that info can be d/l into an Excel Spread sheet and there
you go. ;)

Thanks for all your help,

If you are desperate, and can exclude your download directory,
then a file listing of all you .exe files should give you a pretty
close approximation of all your installed programs. You might
want to also exclude your windows directory as well.

Meanwhile, though, I don't think they wouldn't work with "noninstall"
programs; i.e., those wunnerful wuns where you just unzip and copy some
files to a directory (or the ultimate Boomer-sized [1] apps that are
nothing but an exe).

Yes, that's what I was thinking of when I made my previous comments on
this thread. I probably should have said it but now you have saved me
doing so. :-)
[1]John and John[2] (and you know who you are <g>) -- isn't it about
time a glossary-type entry for "boomer-sized" made it into the FAQs? I
nominate this for inclusion, next time you feel like a minor, lite
tweak.

Interesting idea. Will think about it.

I exist but to serve.

Thanks. Seemed a natural, it's been a traditional term for so long.

Use the search function (Start>Search) to find all *.exe and *.com files.
The downside to this method is that it will include some system files.

Unless one has all their compressed files in set directories, and
excludes them, that method will also include all compressed (not
installed) .exe files.
