program to big to fit in memory

When trying to install winxp, I get the message
"program to big to fit in memory." The computer
is a Dell with 512mb of RAM and a new freshly
formatted 120gb hard drive.
Help.

It depends on how you are installing XP. A boot to setup CD should avoid that
error.
