Program that will analyze your hardware/system configuration?

I installed an additional hard drive about a month ago, and just today
realized that I haven't had DMA enabled on it. So I got to thinking,
is there any software out there that will analyze a computer and look
for such mistakes and either simply point them out to you or recommend
fixes? Or is it best to simply use something like SiSoft Sandra to
benchmark your system and go from there? I'm not very experienced
with SiSoft Sandra, so perhaps it actually does exactly what I'm
looking for?

Another program that just benchmarks disk, file transfer speeds, is
called HDTach. You could try searching for that.

AIDA32 ver3.93 from www.aida32.hu

It's not so much a benchmarking utility as a reporting utility. SANDRA is
also good in that it will allow you to compare with machines of similar
specs.

AIDA32 v3.93! And grab it before it's gone. The program writer, Tamas
Miklos, has said he's finished with the AIDA32 Project. Sounds like "Last
Call" to me ;-)

I just read that. It's a true shame he's decided to stop work on AIDA32.
