Program stopping

While playing 'Madden 2003' it will suddenly stop and
minimize to the taskbar. It still runs when I click on
it. There appears that something is running in the
background but I can't find it. What could be going on?
 
As you suspect, there is probably a background process (program) trying to
get your attention. Use Task Manager to close down programs until you can
find the culprit (right-click the clock, go to Task Manager)
