I use TclockEx on my desktop PC and now would like to have it on my laptop
(WinME). However both Tclock and Tclockex don't list WinME as a supported
OS.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Woks well on XP. I'd give it a try, or you could e-mail the author at

Tclockex works just fine on my old ME machine as well as my XP one

I have always had problems getting it to work properly in XP and the
author states its a known problem.

Thanks Pauline, I did try it with no problems. Just wondering why ME isn't
listed at the website.

I think WindowsME may be one of them things, like the Windows everyone
wants to forget. After all if you pretend it never existed, did it really?

Maybe ask the author/web master? My guess would be that Win ME and Win
98 can run the same programs.

TclockEx worked on my WinME system. Generally, software listed as Win9x
will work fine on WinME. Also anything designed for Win98SE will also work
with WinME.

I use TClock with ME, and it works perfectly. Wanted to use TClockEx,
but it had a problem. Don't remember what it was since it was a while
back that I switched.

The version of TClock I'm using is 2.2.9 though.

Try Tclock2. I don't see an explicit OS list, but the fine print does
mention that a feature is supported on WinME/2K/XP.

http://home.inreach.com/2tone/tclock2/tclock2.htm

It does far, far more than Tclockex, but there is a performance hit.

No problems here -- it runs fine under XP.

Do you use the Memory monitoring also or just the calandar?

It also dosent seem to display correctly for me.

Thanks for the myriad of replies! So far so good on the WinME machine. I
think the folks who stated that programs cross-train well between ME and 98
are making a good point. I was just proceeding carefully. I especially got
a kick out of tully's response:
"I think WindowsME may be one of them things, like the Windows everyone wants to forget."

Thanks again,

One possibility (tho' I don't know if it was the story for the above):

Win "9X" comparability frequently denotes 95+98+ME.

As long as there are no realmode DOS activities involved, most anything
I can think of (?) that runs on win98 should equally run on winME.

Oops, I'd failed to read all mssgs in the thread before posting. Your earlier
post makes mine redundant. I hadn't been trying to be a parrot. ;)
