Program Not updating

A couple of weeks ago the program updated on my laptop
and extended the expiration date to the end of 2005. I
got home and expected to see that already updated on my
home PC. To my surprise it was not and when I hit the
update it said I had the newest software. NOT! The laptop
is a newer version but the spyware update number is the
same on both computers.

Anyone have an idea as to why home PC says it has newest
version when I know there is a newer version?

Known problem, workaround as follows;

Almost everyone (if not everyone) has this update problem. The solution is
the manual update using plun's procedure:

"Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware

Restart MSAS and "check for updates"

Done until MS realize that this is a bug.............."

not to call it this way :-)

Well, I user called Taxman was first with this workarund
so all credits to him.

OK...so what happens if you do this and you still see
version 1.0.501 with a 7/31/05 expiration date?

Any other ideas?
