I have exited Outlook 2002. When I then shut down
Windows XP, I get a message that says Outlook is still
running and to wait while Outlook closes. Then a get a
second message that dasy "program is not responding, end
now."

How do I solve this.

Thanks for the response. Just to clarify, I have already
exited (or closed down) Outlook before shutting down
Windows XP. That is why this is an issue. Windows
thinks that Outlook is still open when I have already
closed Outlook.

Ah. OK - anything else (fax software, PDA sync software) running that might
be keeping Outlook running in the background?

Yes, my PDA software, HotSync for Palm runs in the
background. However, I do not sync to Outlook. I sync to
another application, Palm Desktop.

The message that Outlook is still running does not occur
every time I shut down Windows XP. Only sometimes.

Any suggestions?

Glad I'm not alone with this problem. I'm new to XP (just got the PC on
Friday) and I've had this same thing happen sporadically all weekend.
Nothing running in the background that I know of...

Me too. I just posted the same question. Like Aylon, I
close all programs, shut down and get the same error
message. I ususally have to click on End Task a few
times before it finally shuts down. Any ideas?
