I have a website address in my Word program. When I click
on it, I get a box that says, "Windows cannot find
PROGRAM. This program is needed for opening files of
type; URL: MailToProtocol' "

I went into the site through the normal way, was trying to
send an email over to them and get the same message.

Where can I find and download this PROGRAM? I assume it
is part of Internet Explorer.

Thank you,

Pat

A mailto: link opens your default Email program. Look at Internet Options
(via either control panel or the Internet Explorer Tools menu) and go to the
Programs tab. The E-mail drop down lets you set or change the default Email
program. It sounds like an invalid item is presently selected as default.

Open Windows Explorer.
Click Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Find URL:MailTo Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select open.
Click Edit.
Application used to perform this action should be
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1
The double quotes and the space before /mailurl are necessary.
