program hangs

when i try updating the program it always hangs and
becomes unresponsive. and i usually have to reboot and
try again.. why is this? is there some kind of patch or..
what do i do? any advice is greatly appreciated

It seems this way, but its actually updating, just leave it and go do
something else, it happens on my updates too.
