Hi,

I have been using Remote desktop to access my work computer by
connecting directly to the static IP of my work machine (I hope that's
safe) Now I'm wondering how to run a program on my client machine with a
file or database on the remote machine over the internet. Any advice
would be appreciated.

Using Remote Desktop you simply open the program on the remote machine just you were physically
sitting at its keyboard. All processing is executed on the remote machine.

I probably phrased the question wrong, what I was thinking was maybe to
access a drive with a database on it that other LAN machines were using
over the Internet with a laptop running the same program rather than
tying up the remote machine thru Remote Desktop. In this case its a work
order program that shares a common database between various machine on
the LAN.

Thanks Again
