Program disappears into the desktop when run!

This only happens with Easycleaner. I double-click on the desktop
icon, it flashes briefly on the screen and starts to expand then
retreats to the taskbar. I click on it there, it shimmies out to the
centre of the screen like most programs will do, then disappears. If I
click it again on the taskbar (where it's still visible) it reappears
briefly again in the middle of the desktop, then it shimmys back down
to the taskbar. But, get this, when it shimmys out to the desktop and
back, it never grows to fill the screen, it's just the taskbar icon
version of it that moves to centre-screen and back. It stays the same
size. Wierd, huh?

It sounds like the EasyCleaner program and/or the various bits of registry
information this program maintains are damaged. Or possibly an update to
Windows or to another program changed a common file that EasyCleaner
depends on. I guess there could be a type of malware present but that would
want to block any program (not just EasyCleaner) that touches areas where
the malware has left its foot print.

Best bet would be to check with EasyCleaner tech support. This may be a
problem that they are already familiar with and can help you fix it. Or if
this is something new that effects a lot of EasyCleaner users, they'll want
to know about it so they can develop a fix.

General advice for a broken program: You could try uninstalling to get rid
of the "bad." The uninstall changes should be dynamic and you should be
able to reinstall right away but to be on the safe side restart and then
reinstall the program.

Alrighty. I already did most of that but not the restart bit. I'll
try. thanks.
