program closes!

I installed Movie Maker 2. Every time I try to add an
effect or transition - the program simply closes... when
I try to fade a clip into another clip (like you could in
version 1 by dragging one clip over the other a little
bit) the program also closes! now I cannot do anything
anymore! there is no uninstall and MM1 does not seem to
be available anymore... I looked on my Windows XP CD Rom
to see if I could do a repair and get MM1 back - but I
can't seem to do that either! Does anybody know how I can
fix MM2? My computer is a brand new Toshiba Satellite
Multimedia Laptop and has the best of everything
available so I don't think it is a hardware issue...
anyway - MM1 worked like a charm. Please can anyone help?

I went back to the old one on one computer just because
codec 9 is unavilable if you want to share with MAC users
and many others haven't upgraded so cant play your movies.
I did it by simply using the system restore to a point
before the mm2 install.

My computer with the mm2 closes when using the effects to.

But mm1 didnt have them(I think) so you wouldn't gain by
going back. Just don't use them in mm2 until they get it
fixed which they likely will - - sometime.
