Program Authentication Pop Up

I renewed my Pc-Cillin virus protection program, then when I tried to send
an email (Incredimail) a pop up said something like "Authentication for
program Incredimail is not recognized." I was not paying as much attention as
I should have, and now I cannot send emails. I can receive, but not send.
Question: Where do I go to let Windows know it is ok to let Incredimail
access the internet?
Thanks!

You really want to use that program?!! Well, it's your choice. You need
to enter the program as allowed into whatever firewall you are using.
If you are using only the Windows Firewall that comes with Service Pack
2, go to its applet in Control Panel and put Incredimail in the
Exceptions tab. If you are using a third-party firewall, look in its
Program configurations and do the same thing.

Thanks for the info. I'll try that. Why would I not want to use it? It seems
like I have seen a highly recognized program that also said it was not
authenticated (if I have the lingo right.)

Incredimail is full of adware, that's why. It piggybacks onto OE and
makes you install lots of "helper" crap. But if you want that sort of
thing on your computer because you like the flashy bits, it's your
choice. I don't understand your last sentence, but if you want to use
Incredimail, it's your computer. Make sure you've set your firewall to
allow it.

The comment about using Incredimail probably had to do with the program
itself and not your authentication problem. The comment might have to do
with all the wallpapers, animation, and other junk that Incredimail users
tend to insert in their emails that increases the size of the email and
might make the mail harder to read on the other end.

Or it might have to do with the fact that it's easy to import from Outlook
or OE to Incredimail, but no easy way to get from Incredimail back to
Outlook or OE if you change your mind or move to another system. Unless
they've changed that lately.

Or it could be something else.
