Prog.exe file for downloading JPE & JPEG files

When trying to download picture from JPE or JPEG file the
computer gives the message that Prog.exe cannot be lo-
cated. How can this be fixed?
 
Check that your File extension mapping for the JPE or JPEG file extension is
still valid. I suspect you let some other program hijack it, and then you
deleted that program so now these extensions are hijacked and misconfigured.

Control Panel -> Folder Options applet -> File Types tab

Find the extension and check what is it defined to "Open with".

One my xp pro system assoc and ftype show this
(where e:\windows is my %systemroot%)

==screeen-copy========================================================
C:\test>assoc .jpe
..jpe=jpegfile

C:\test>ftype jpegfile
jpegfile=rundll32.exe E:\WINDOWS\System32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1

C:\test>
