Is there some sort of default hardware profile that would
carry it's self from one machine to another. I put my
hard drive in a different machine without any other
changes and now I have no sound. I just can't get sound
to work no matter what I do, install drivers, update bios
etc...

Well, there are Hardware Profiles, yes - although I am unsure that is what
would be affecting you.

What is device manager showing? (System Control panel --> hardware tab)
Are there any yellow warning marks next to any devices? Are the drivers
actually installed or are you saying you are having errors installing them?

And what does this have to do with XP Security Administration-- (the subject
of this news group) :)
