We recently had a mail server change at work. Out of 20 machines that I had
to change, one would not let me change the server name. The server name and
mailbox name are grayed out. The account does have administrator priviliges.
What would cause these settings to be locked? This is Outlook 2000. The
settings to which I refer are under Microsoft Exchange Server properties.
The OS is Windows 2000.

Fixed itself. Apparently, the grayed out message was caused by an attempt to
do a remote change of the server name. After a restart, the new server name
appeared in the box and e-mail was accessible.
