I had a manager ask me to add his laptop to our office domain. Then he wanted to go on a trip and take his laptop with him. But he wants to have the profile be the same when he is away from the office (same look, outlook express contacts, shortcuts, etc.

Is it possible to have one profile for domain logons as well as local logons when not connected to the office domain? I thought profiles are either local or network. I guess I could try to copy his domain profile to the all user profile. Not sure if that is what is needed or even possible. I would appreciate any help on this one

Thanks

Tony

Tony, I log in to my laptop both while connected to the domain and while not
connected. I simply log in the same either way. When I am not connected,
WinXP uses cached creditials to log me in. I have access to all of the same
stuff (except network resources of course) when I log in while not
connected. I did nothing special to set this up it uses one profile.

I would point out that I am not using "roaming profiles" or "folder
redirection" so my user profile info is stored locally on the laptop. I
beleive that if you use "roaming profiles" the user profile is updated on
log on and log off so it to would be avalaible when not connected to the
network.

I hope that helps.
