Hello All

I am using the IMPORTPRF regsitry setting and a PRF file to configure
our users Outlook profiles. I have managed to get the registry changes
applied silently using the /s switch on regedit but I have failed to
find a way to silently apply the PRF file when Outlook starts.

Two questions:

1. Is this the best way to update users profiles
2. How can I get the PRF file to apply silently without the warning
message popping up

Background info:

We are migrating a bunch of users to Exchange 2003, they currently use
outlook but not against an Exchange server or any other mail server,
they use it to store local tasks, contacts etc. Outlook is not their
email client (Yet!)

I want to be able to automatically configure a profile for these users
which will leave their existing profile in tact and create a new
profile for them pointing at their new cluster server. I have this
working ok apart from getting the PRF to apply silently.

Thanks all

AJ

The ImportPRF registry setting should do it, but there are also a couple of others you need to adjust, as described in the excellent white paper "Configuring Outlook Profiles by Using a PRF File" at http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.aspx?assetid=HA011403051033&QueryID=pHm7c_60I&respos=3

The page at http://www.slipstick.com/exs/olroam.htm includes information on other profile tools and resources.
