product key limit

I recently reloaded my pc and when trying to activate the
product key it came back saying the key has reached it's
25 times activation limit how do i get a new
key...Preferably without having to pay out again

There is no activation limit on a standard retail version of XP. Do you buy
some chance have a student version? If yes, there is a limit. If you are
unsure but you purchased XP at a seemingly very good price, you may have
been sold the student version.

You don't have to.
It also should have given you an 800 number to call. You just call and they
take care of you in about five minutes.
