Would appreciate guidance in locating the Product Key in Everest - It is not
shown under the OS info in my Everest.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your response. As a novice, I apparently am doing something
wrong.

I tried to Start>Run produkey.exe as indicated in the website, but get
"Windows cannot find produkey.exe..."

Guidance?

Thanks again,

Nels

If you have downloaded the Produkey.exe file, simply double click the file to run the program. It does not need to be installed on the system. If you are going to run the file from Start/Run, you need to enter the complete path to the file.

Additionally the run option is only useful if you want to use the various
switches for it. It runs just fine without such and will suit your needs
without a problem as it is I'm betting.

Nope -- it's a software license, which the Home edition doesn't show.

However, the previous program by the same author, Aida32, is still
available. And the Enterprise edition does show software licenses.
Download at <http://forum.aumha.org/overflow/aida32.zip>.

The interface is similar to Everest. Open the Software item and the
Licenses sub-item.

ProduKey. What a neat little utility. Thanks for input!!

Not a problem and thanks for letting us know that you appreciate it. There's
a few other products out there that do the same thing though I've found that
this one is the most powerful. A recent test in the 2k groups was great!

The poster wanted to retrieve the key from a dead OS. They loaded up a
BartPE disk and then brought up ProduKey with the command line function to
tie it into the /windows directory and it actually managed to pull the key
out for everything. It was pretty impressive and, well, to be honest I
wasn't sure that it would work but fortunately it did.

Anyhow, if you enjoyed that then take a trip to this section of the site:

http://nirsoft.net/utils/index.html

In there you'll find a VAST number of useful tools that will awe your
friends and amaze even you. <g> On top of that there's a number of them that
include the source for the applications if you're into coding at all. It's a
site (and most of the utilities are as well) that has been in my "toolbox"
for a rather long time now.
