no not at the same time.... of course! One license & installation per
machine
I was wondering if you can wipe out the 32 bit and install the 64 bit of
your
CPU is 64 Bit...
Why am I asking? I will get a new PC and I want to get a 64 bit CPU, however
I am not sure if all my peripherals will have drivers for the 64 bit
vista...
having the ability to go from 64 to 32 or the opposite gives flexibility
that I will need...
Yes, you can do that. A number of people have. Might take a call to
Microsoft to get the second install activated, but maybe not even that.
You should check the websites of your peripheral manufacturers to see if
they have issued 64 bit drivers/updates beforehand and download them (burn
to a CD or whatever)--just in case native support is not included with the
Vista 64 install.
At any one time you can use one copy on one one computer EITHER the 32-bit
version OR the 64-bit version. It is probably a throw-out-of-court copyright
violation if, in your home for your private use, you managed to set up a
dual boot of the two versions on one computer.
But the general principle is one copy per computer. A second computer would
require you to pay for a second license.
you dont even take the time reading the thread before you blubber out such
nonesense!
As I said in the thread, I dont want to run 2 OS on the same machine or
different machines.
I want the ability to chose the version of Vista that I will use after I
format my pc.
Either 32 bit or 64 bit of the same flavor of vista. Of course my cpu will
be 64 bit that can work with both 32 and 64 bit.
Also I am asking if the OEM product key allows you to chose 64 or 32 bit.
If you have such a skunner against Windows use something else. And if it's
'cause of your job, find another as it is a free country. So then I would
appreciate it if you could cease taking out your hostility on me. I'm just
trying to enjoy participating a bit in a peer support group for a product I
like.
Jim:
I can't answer your question based on experience because I don't
have any OEM copies of Vista yet. Based on the retail and volume license PK
setup there would be a good chance that OEM would be the same. Have a great
day.
