Hi
I have purchased some XP embedded licences.
The packages contains an orange label with a 25 character Run Time
licence number, it also has a bar code showing a number like
X11-?????.
Also there is a little sticky label with numbers like 000AA-BBB-CCC-
DDD .

Which if these do I enter into the PID edit field in target designer?

Hopefully an easy question to answer.

Regards

Well, after doing some more digging, I checked the FBALOG.TXT file in
c:\windows\fba directory.
I notice:
12:27:37 - PM [FBASetProductKey] Invalid Product Key.

I think the error is obvious. However, what do I enter in the product
key in target designer?
I am using the 5 blocks of 5 chars (including the dashes). This
appears to be wrong.

Any other suggestions?

Regards

The key you enter would be the one off the card that came with the license.
The one that says something like....."Run Time Key don't loose this card"

If that isn't working you either don't have your partition size correct, or
you are not on Service Pack 2.

It might be that SP2 is not installed, I had problems installing the
whole thing because I started with the evaluation version, and when
the real thing arrived the installation got very confused (as did I).
I cannot see anywhere on TD (Help | About) that SP2 is installed, so I
will retry to install SP2.

Thanks.

Well, looks like it isn't the SP2 problem.
I re-installed the whole thing, including SP2 and then FP2007.
I still get the same problem.

But, I don't see any reference to SP2 in the Help|About screens in TD.
I see them installed in the Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
applet.

Any other suggestions?

Well, you know what? It was the SP2 problem after all.
Even though the SP2 stuff appears in the add/remove programs list, it
wasn't properly installed.

I had to do several install/uninstall/reinstall cycles to get the
thing to setup right.
It took about 5 days to get through this.

It appears that my problems started when I installed the evaluation
downloads whilst waiting for the CDROMS to arrive. Big mistake. The
eval stuff breaks the install of SP2 files.
The SP2 files are needed for the images to accept the latest licenses.

A 5 day learning curve. I hope I don't have to do that again.
