Producer scan.hta program and powerpoint equivalent

This is for people familiar with Microsoft Producer and the scan.hta
program.

I like the way the scan.hta file works for producer. Scanning the
folder and building a navigation menu based on however many published
producer files are in it.
So I was wondering if such a thing exists for Power point files. A
program that would scan for .ppt files and build a navigation menu
based on that. One that would stay in the background while each
presenter would show his program. It would allow you to just drop the
..ppt files in a folder for large meetings and have a central
navagation point.

Steve,
Forgive my ignorance, but I went to the page and have looked at this
code and am not sure how to use it. Do I save it as an .html file or
some other kind of file? How do I run it?
Thanks,

Steve,
Thanks that works great! Is there a way that this macro could run
automatically when starting up the powerpoint file that holds it? That
would make the process completely automatic. Or can it already and I
just don't know how?
Thanks much,

Unfortunately (or fortunately, given the number of nasties going around the
net lately) PPT doesn't let us run anything automatically on opening a
presentation.

You can have macros available by menu or toolbar click to ALL your
presentations - in other words, they load with PowerPoint, not individual
presentations.

Create an ADD-IN with TOOLBARS that run macros

There's nothing TO forgive, Jim. Smart folk ask. ;-)
