I need to know if it's possible to create the output from a MS Producer
presentation as one file. The reason I need this is we don't have streaming
on our server and the users would like to view the presentations offline when
travelling. Is this possible?

No -- but you could package the presentation as a directory of files and
subdirectories (in a zip file for unzipping and viewing perhaps) or on an
autorun CD for offline viewing.

There is no need for "streaming" on your server (I assume you mean a
Windows Media Server?) by the way. Windows Media (and therefore Producer
output) can be streamed from any http server (with only a slight loss in
streaming functionality).

I'm not sure if this would work for you, but I'm in the process of
developing a web presentation tool called iPresent Presio. The tool is
designed primarily for creating audio/video presentations synched with
PowerPoint slides, for distribution over the web.

The default output option is HTML based, which creates a series of
files much like MS Producer. But it also has a publish to slideshow
feature (WMV, Quicktime MOV, or Flash). This will convert the
PowerPoint presentation into a single media file that can be played
back with your viewer's media player of choice. Here's an example
slideshow that I produced using the tool:

Your users could simply download the file from your web server and play
it back locally. If you're interested in trying out a beta, you can
sign up on my site. Good luck.

Hi Richard H

I know that some people converter their PowerPoint presentation to a
video file and then
burn it to a DVD so that others can view the presentation on TV with a
DVD player. Since your users would like to view the presentation
offline, i guess it may work for you.

1.You need a conversion software to convert your presentation to
video
PPT2DVD .
You can go to
http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-dvd.html
to check if it meet your needs.
2. You need a burner to burn the video to a DVD
