I updated the motherboard and processor in an one year old emachine running XP. That was about a month and now XP will not boot up, no matter what I try. Any ideas if this is an XP security issue, or maybe a virus?? The emachines restore disk will not work either, I get a message cannot install on multiple systems.

Thanks for any help.

Was the motherboard a replacement made by E-Machine? Their oem XP disk might
be made to use only with their motherboard . Jym
