Processor Speed??

I have a AMD 2400+ CPU installed in my A7N8X-X motherboard that I'm having
so many problems with but will discuss in separate post. Shouldn't my
processor show up as a 2500+ and not an 1800+ It is supposed to be a 2400+
333FSB chip and I'm running PC3200 RAM. When it boots it only shows 1800+
at 200Mhz FSB? Is there something I'm supposed to set or change or is this
right. I would have thought it would show 2400+ at 400MHz FSB. Thanks.

You have to change the CPU External Frequency in the BIOS to 166. It sets
to 100 by default. (100x2=200 FSB, 133x2=266 FSB, 166x2=333 FSB)

I did that and I'm still getting the wrong speed. Why doesn't the memory
show up at the right frequency either? Thanks, I'll double check the bios
setting.
 
Well, thanks for getting me to look, I bought the pc as a 2400+ 333 but it
looks like they have shorted me a 266 FSB and also my memory wasn't pc3200
like they said. I guess the bios doesn't lie and now I know why I kept
having so many problems with the bios set at 166. Thanks for the help.

2400+ isnt a speed its a rating, its supposed to run at around 1.8GHz
200Mhz is the 'carrier' or 'real' frequency of 400DDR memory.
I think your computer sounds fine, you just been confused over these
figures -which is easy done at first.
 
Yea, I think I was confused on the memory, but should the processor still
show the correct processor, all my other pc's show the actual processor
installed in bios 2400+ but when you open in windows shows true speed
